The group
PRESENCE OVERSEAS

Marie Brizard products were already being distributed all over the world by the end of the 19th century. The group now sells over 200 million bottles a year on the five continents. Exports account for 24% of the group's turnover, a total of €90 million.

The key export markets are the United Kingdom, Germany, the United States, Belgium, Canada, Japan, Russia and Northern Europe.

Export activity

The main product families that are exported are:

  • The liqueurs , with currently rapid growth in the Modern Liqueurs sector (such as Manzanita, Hot Mint or EasyMix), in addition to the classic cocktail bases. The Marie Brizard brand is available in 120 countries.



  • Whiskies: In 2004, more than a million bottles of WILLIAM PEEL whisky were exported. This brand is sold in 20 countries, with the main markets being Spain, Andorra and Italy.

    The other brands (SIR PITTERSON, GLEN ROGER’S, CANADIAN’S TIPPERS, etc.) are distributed in more than 20 countries around the world, including Spain, Laos and even South Korea.



  • Port: The Portuguese have been exporting wine by ship from Porto to England since the 16th century. Today, the quality of PITTERS port is recognised in around 20 different countries.



  • Punch and Cocktails: The "Punch and Cocktails" range, featuring WILLIAM PITTERSON cocktails and SAN JOSE Margarita in particular, is exported to Spain, Andorra, Croatia and a dozen other countries.




  • Still wines , mainly from vineyards in the South of France, the strategy unreservedly being to develop brand wines, and to increase the brand's presence in European Volume Retail Outlets. Also priorities: Marqués del Puerto Rioja wines.



  • Cognac and Brandies elaborated in Charente by Gautier.




    The Spanish subsidiary

    Established in 1904 by Marie Brizard, the subsidiary's head office is located in Zizurkil (San Sebastian), and the trading company Marie Brizard Distribution is located in Madrid.

    In addition to trading activities on the Spanish market, the subsidiary's management also runs the plant at Zizurkil near San Sebastian (production of Anisette for the whole world), and supervises the Bodega Marqués del Puerto located at Fuenmayor in Rioja.

    The main products to be sold in Spain are:

    • Marie Brizard anisette in one litre format
    • Fruit liqueurs and modern liqueurs
    • The Olatz pacharan
    • Certain spirit brands, under distribution licence: Amarula, Fernet Branca, Angostura, Porto Calem, Sierra Tequila, Cachaça 51 and the champagne Nicolas Feuillatte
    • The Pulco range
    • The Rioja Marqués del Puerto wines.
