GENERAL INFORMATION PRODUCTION/PROCESS/QUALITY



Buffalo grass is traditionally harvested by hand in the early summer, when its natural aroma is at its peak, in the Bialowieza forest in eastern Poland. It is then dried before being used as an aromatic. 

In the course of the production process of Wisent vodka, the product from the distillation of the rye is flavoured with an extract from the buffalo grass. 1 to 2 kilos of grass are all that are needed to flavour 1,000 litres of vodka!

It is the grass which gives this vodka its colour and characteristic slightly caramelised flavour. Each bottle of Wisent vodka is decorated by a blade of buffalo grass slipped inside during the production process.
